Peer Support specialists are individuals with lived experience of mental health, substance use disorder, or chronic health issues. Peer support specialists use their life-altering experience to help guide and support others who are in \ recovery and strive to empower individuals to achieve their hopes, dreams, and goals. They work with their clients to connect them with resources in the community that will foster personal and professional growth. Peers are invaluable to our treatment team to provide a deeper level of understanding and commitment to recovery from substance use for clients and staff alike. They provide individual support and will be running peer groups in the near future. Our peers are working on certification through the Colorado Providers Association and Colorado Peer and Family Specialist Certification process.

They will obtain 60 hours of education specific to the international certification and reciprocity consortium (IC&RC) in the domains of:

Advocacy

Recovery/Wellness Support

Mentoring and Education

Ethical Responsibility
Our peers are part of our interdisciplinary team and provide an aspect and dynamic to the team that better supports people in their recovery.
